Thursday Afternoon Golf for 2016 – Stats Supplied by Henry Birch
Thursday Social Golf
Every Thursday, golfers meet at Ruthin-Pwllglas for social golf, drawing balls out of a hat to make up teams of 3 or 4 for a better-ball Stableford. Numbers usually range from 30 to 45.
It’s probably the friendliest game of golf ever played and engenders camaraderie second only to the Ryder Cup. Someone taking her dog for a walk on the bridleway through the course asked if we were on laughing gas when she heard the noise from the prize-giving in the clubhouse bar afterwards.
Definitely the most fun you can get for £2. Well, in Ruthin anyway. You might even pocket £6 if you’re in the winning team. Wow! All are welcome, just turn up at 11. ( Alan Kilday )
